All About Me
Being from New York, I was fortunate enough to see a lot of live theatre as a kid. I was obsessed with Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz in particular. When I was in the third grade, a new girl in my class told me about an acting class she was taking, so I went with her that week, and I was hooked! Ever since then, I've been performing in educational settings like in high school and college, as well as in professional and community productions. Other than theatre, I'm interested in psychology and therapy, and even minored in art therapy. One day I hope to combine my love of theatre and mental health and practice drama therapy in some capacity in addition to living out my dreams of performing all across the country and back home in New York. When I'm not performing, I enjoy swimming, going to the movies, playing with my dog, Joey, and throwing themed parties with my friends!
I’m a strong Mezzo-Soprano/Belter who is continuously looking to improve, working on repertoire that challenges me to expand my horizons. My dance experience includes four years of jazz dance, three years of ballet, and two years of tap. At the University of the Arts, I took courses in musical theatre performance, various acting techniques, poetic realism, verse drama, cabaret performance, music theory, voice acting, and more. UArts also provided multiple experiences for me to perform in new works, in both a traditional rehearsal process and also in the style of a 29-hour reading. These projects were super exciting to be a part of, and taught me a lot about the process of working on new, changing material.
Prior to my undergraduate training, I attended Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, a performing arts high school in Astoria, New York, where I received an arts-endorsed diploma in drama. There I took classes on speech and diction, Meisner technique, Shakespeare, theatre history, playwriting, and directing. My program was also honored twice during my time there and invited to perform at The Shubert Organization High School Theatre Festival, which held performances at the Music Box Theatre and the Shubert Theatre.
I am a performer whose personal work ethic has a lot to do with putting the time and effort into character analysis work and research on the world of the show in order to create a full, rich life on stage or on screen. Each piece I work on provides an exciting opportunity to absorb new information that helps me understand this world we live in, and the opportunity to share this new knowledge with others.
